Another year of Formula 1 is upon us with the traditional season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, and Lewis Hamilton looking to defend his crown from last year. This is The Roar‘s guide to streaming the season online and watching it on TV.
With a change in broadcast arrangements midway through the 2017 season, the only way to watch every race live will be through Fox Sports, which is a channel exclusive to Foxtel.
Fox Sports will broadcast every minute of every practice session, qualifying session and race live throughout the season, ad-break free from green to chequered flag.
To watch Fox Sports’ coverage, you will need a valid Foxtel iQ3 subscription, complete with the sports package.
Because the only way to watch every race of the season live is on Fox Sports, it also means the only way to stream Formula 1 action is through either of Foxtel’s dedicated streaming applications.
The first of those is the Foxtel App³. It is available to use for free with existing Foxtel login details.
The other application provided by Foxtel is Foxtel Now, which is better for those looking to stream Foxtel only. You can access this from $39 per month with packages including sports.
Both applications are available to use on whichever compatible device you may own.
The Formula 1 season gets underway in Australia during the end of March and runs over 20 rounds, finishing in Abu Dhabi on the 25th of November.
Lewis Hamilton is the defending champion after beating Sebastian Vettel by 46 points in 2017. He is expected to be up the top end again in 2018.
Daniel Ricciardo is Australia’s biggest chance at the championship after finishing fifth in 2017 for the Red Bull Racing Team.
