While the main focus is at Randwick, there is still some high quality racing across Australia this Saturday. Here are my five suggested plays across the remaining programs.

Bet One- Each-Way- Bendigo Race Four Number 3 Lyuba
The price has tumbled thanks to the withdrawal of Sprightly Lass, but I still had her on top even with the Hawkes mare in. Quality mare for the Darren Weir team who is first up here.

Hasn’t raced since winning impressively down the straight on Derby Day against the mares. She is a bomb when produced fresh and maps super.

Bet Two- Each Way- Bendigo Race Six Number 3 Miss Gunpowder
She’s better than a double figure chance for sure IMHO. If she brought her best form, she’d be winning. This mare has had two runs back from a spell, both in quality mares races in Sydney, where she ran okay but didn’t measure up.

Did trial well leading into the resumption so she had come back well to the eye, so hopefully she can produce it on race day.

Bet Three- Win- Toowoomba Race Three Number 12 Another Dollar
Despite the freshen up and taking on the older horses, I like this filly. Nearly a couple of months between runs since racing over the Doomben mile where she was set an impossible task from the back on a leaders track yet still wound up with purpose behind Epic Rant.

Fresh at 1300m looks ideal and she does have a touch of quality.

Bet Four- Win- Toowoomba Race Six Number 1 Zofonic Dancer
I think he’s the best bet at Toowoomba. Smart three year old for the Rob Heathcoate stable who should lap up the mile here. Resumed over the 1350m at Doomben a couple of weeks back and worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind stablemate Trommelschlagen.

Unbeaten in two runs at the mile and has a stack more upside than most. Anything over black figures will do me fine.

Bet Five- Win- Morphettville Race One Number 5 Coppergate
Similar to Zofonic Dancer, black figures is fine, because I think he is an absolute moral. Son of Helmet who resumed over 1400m on the Parks track three weeks back where he attempted to lead all the way after being smashed in betting.

He looked to be bolting in front and was all over a winner but the horse who had the sit, Tarantino, dashed clear when he got the split. I think back to 1200m should suit and he has the quality to beat these.
