It’s a bit of a strange set of circumstances this one as due to the Commonwealth Games currently being played in their stomping ground, they’ve been forced to find alternate venues for home matches.

One of them will be the match they’ve sold to Port Adelaide in China in a few weeks time, but this time around it’s selling a home game back to Fremantle who get a nice tasty advantage in return.

Apparently it was the West Coast Eagles who first had a crack at this but the AFL blocked them and organised for Fremantle to do it, perhaps thinking it’d be an easier pill for fans to swallow.

But it’ll certainly be an interesting saga to watch in the long term say if Fremantle manage to beat another team into finals by a win or less after getting this bonus home game today.

Anyway, enough of that – both of these teams are in good form and have reason to believe they can win today.

Fremantle’s Round 1 performance was simply horrible, but their Round 2 bounce back against Essendon on Saturday night last week was sublime.

Gold Coast have played two good games of football and gotten two wins as a result.

Prediction
Perhaps controversially I reckon home ground advantage could play a big role in deciding this one, and I’ll give the nod to Fremantle as a result.

Fremantle by 18 points.
