Match preview:

The Newcastle Knights and the Brisbane Broncos face off at McDonald Jones Stadium in a week five clash of the 2018 NRL competition. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:35pm (AEST).

The Broncos travel to the hunter sitting level on points with the Knights with the home side looking to capitalise of the improvements they have made.

The winner will skip into the eight at rounds end and if the visitors lose, significant questions will be asked of the Broncos credentials after their poor loss against the Titans last week.

Their season has been a strange one with both of their wins blessed with luck, one in the form of a post and the other thanks to an appalling refereeing error, outside that, things haven’t looked good.

The Knights have been belted by the Roosters and the Dragons in the last fortnight and whilst there is no shame in that, they will be looking to produce something far better tonight on their home patch.

Despite early season promise, things have looked a little shaky recently and creating points through the halves has been an issue, particularly behind a pack of forwards that doesn’t seem to have the firepower to dominate others.

Prediction
The Broncos will be too strong in this one and might be able to rack up a few points away from home which would be a confidence boosting result.

Newcastle Knights 12, Brisbane Broncos 32
