It’s an Anzac Eve clash at the ‘G, as the Melbourne Demons host the Richmond Tigers. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog from 7:25pm (AEST).

A Tuesday night football match. Sounds unnatural, but here we are.

Last week wasn’t the best for the Demons. By a long shot. A demoralising 67-point loss against the Hawks, and the Dees fell into their all-too-regular trap of becoming complacent after a round or two of great footy.

The Tigers, for their part, have been doing things largely as expected: they’re 3-1, and coming off an absolute shellacking of lowly Brisbane.

There’ll be plenty of interest surrounding Melbourne’s response from last week. They’re not bad against the Tigers – winning three of four matches since 2014 – but they’re looking a tad outclassed here.

The response started at selection: Jordan Lewis might be out with a hand injury, but they’ve also dropped Sam Frost, Tomas Bugg and Bailey Fritsch. Replacing that quartet will be Jayden Hunt, Billy Stretch, Dom Dyson and Sam Weiderman.

Richmond’s also made three changes, although out of necessity: Jack Graham’s been suspending, while Nick Vlaustin and Josh Caddy are out with injuries. Nick Broad, Sam Lloyd and second-gamer Jack Higgins are all in for the big clash.

Prediction
While Melbourne’s surely going to put up a fight, last week’s form is just too worrying to ignore. The Tigers are great defensively and offensively, and it’s difficult to see them dropping this one.
