The Adelaide Crows beat Sydney at the SCG last Friday night; they fought harder and had a better work-rate than the week before.

Captain Taylor Walker led the way with four goals and responded to the hefty criticism he had been receiving from South Australian media.

Gold Coast held off a last-quarter attack from Brisbane to win QClash15 last Sunday. The Suns were good early and should have run out with an easy win, but the Lions kept challenging until the final siren.

It was a better game by the Suns, who needed to get another win on the board after two losses in the West.

The Crows will be without injured defenders Kyle Hartigan (hamstring) and Jake Kelly (hand) this week. Midfielder Matt Crouch and wingman David Mackay come into the side.

Still no Rory Sloane in the middle for the Crows, but the return of reigning Club Champion Matt Crouch is a huge inclusion for the Adelaide midfield.

Gold Coast have made two changes, one forced, to their QClash winning team.

Darcy Macpherson fractured his fibula and will be sidelined for up to 14 weeks. Michael Rischitelli has been omitted, but is a travelling emergency.

Michael Barlow and Max Spencer come in for their first games in the AFL for 2018.

Adelaide’s Andy Otten reaches the long-awaited milestone of 100 games this round. Drafted in 2007, Otten’s AFL journey has been one of the tougher ones. Riddled with injury and often coming in to fill the gap of an injured star, Otten has toughed it out and finally gets to reach 100 AFL games.

Prediction
If they bring the intensity we saw against Sydney last weekend, it could be a demolition job by the Crows. However, just like Collingwood did two weeks ago, the Gold Coast Suns can pounce should Adelaide take a reserved approach with lacklustre effort.

The Crows will be too strong on Saturday night though and might even get to flex their muscles to take a percentage-boosting win.
