The Lions will be looking to turn around their poor form on tour, when they return home against the Brumbies. Join The Roar for live scores and blog from 1:15am AEST.

You wouldn’t think these teams would be in this position going from last season’s form, but they are and both need wins sooner rather than later.

The Lions’ South African opponents: the Bulls, Sharks, Stormers and Jaguares are all within one point of each other on 24 and 23 points, but all of those clubs could well be above the Lions, given that the Johannesburg team has lost three on the road.

In saying that, the Brumbies form is worse, with four consecutive defeats leading in, and their pool hasn’t been as kind, as they sit fourth on their conference table.

For the Brumbies, Rob Valentini moves from eight to blindside, David Pocock moves into seven and replaces Tom Cusack, Lachlan McCaffrey drops to the bench and Isi Naisarani comes into eight.

Christian Lealiifano will also jump in for Wharenui Hawera at 10, and Kyle Godwin is named at 12.

For the Lions, Ruan Dreyer comes in for Johannes Jonker at three, Lourens Erasmus will take over from Andries Ferreira, Kwagga Smith will move from eight to six, and Cyle Brink is dropped for Jacjiva Dayimani.

In the backs Rohan Janse Van Rensburg will take over from Harold Vorster at inside centre, Aphiwe Dyanti is in for Lionel Mapoe, and Sylvian Mahuza replaces Ruan Combrinck.

The last two matches have gone one apiece between these two teams, meaning that the Brumbies may have a chance today.

I would expect the Lions to win at home, and quite possibly put a score on the Brumbies.

Lions by 20.
