An inaccurate Brisbane Lions side would be disappointed not to have snatched a win from the Sydney Swans despite recording two more scoring shots than their opponents.

Brisbane recorded their first win of the season against Hawthorn last Sunday, turning it on in a 56 point victory in front of their home crowd.

The developing team have finally held on for a win, after coming close in several matches this year.

Sydney are also coming off a strong win; they hosted Fremantle on Saturday night and kicked away across the night to win by 59 points.

Brisbane have named an unchanged line up and who can blame them, it’s hard to take anyone out of a winning team without injury or suspension.

There are two changes to Sydney’s side this round, Callum Mills is out with a season-ending footy injury sustained after training on Thursday and Gary Rohan has been omitted.

Defender Harry Marsh and debutant Ryley Stoddart come in to the team.

Ryley Stoddart impressed in his first pre-season after being selected at Pick 53 last year, and has earned an opportunity in the senior side.

Dayne Beams stepped down as captain of the Brisbane Lions this week; after his father’s passing earlier this year, Beams said it was best that he just finds his love for the game again and hands the leadership reigns over to Dayne Zorko.

Freshly promoted Lions’ vice-captain, Harris Andrews, will relish the opportunity to be second-in-command to Zorko, while tackling the challenging task of slowing down Lance Franklin this week.

The last time these two teams met was in round seven last year, where Sydney were 54 point winners at the SCG.

Tom Papley will play his 50th AFL game this weekend.

Prediction
Sunday night’s celebrations would have been short lived for the Lions, as their attention turned to this round 10 clash. After the fantastic performance they put together last week, the worst outcome on Saturday would be a huge loss.

Sydney will be wary, but need to take the game on, they are the more polished of the two teams and need to show it. The impact of Franklin up forward and around the ground will be influential to the Swans getting up.

Sydney by 23.
