It was a tough week for the Fremantle Dockers. They didn’t represent themselves too well at all against the Sydney Swans at the Sydney Cricket Ground losing by 59 points.

They had a decent start to the season, but the last few weeks they have seriously struggled. The well-documented drama surrounding Ross Lyon certainly hasn’t helped, but it shouldn’t have impacted the playing group too much.

In what was a dull night in Sydney for Fremantle, there were a few shining lights. Nat Fyfe continued his solid form racking up 28 disposals, while Lachie Neale also found plenty of it gaining 30 touches.

Michael Walters could have easily kicked a back with two goals and three behinds, so he will be looking to improve his accuracy come this time against the Kangaroos.

In team news for the Dockers, Stephen Hill and Danyle Pearce return to the side in favour of the omitted Mitch Crowden and Ryan Nyhuis.

As for North Melbourne, it was a convincing win down in Tasmania where they put the Greater Western Sydney Giants to the sword with a 43-point win.

The picture has changed this season for the Kangaroos. The thing to remember is they weren’t that poor last season, but lost a number of early games by under a goal which impacted the latter stages of the season.

When you get off to a good start you can build momentum and have finals at the back of your mind, and with that comes a drive and determination to succeed. They have that going into the middle period of the season this time.

Ben Brown just goes from strength-to-strength as he kicked five in the third quarter against the Giants to put the game to bed. Jarrad Waite was also impressive booting four, and he’s showing that he is in career-best form.

In team news this week for the Roos, Sam Durdin will play his first game of the season due to the decision to rest Majak Daw.

Prediction
Yes, the home ground advantage does suit Fremantle, but North Melbourne have proven they can travel interstate when they defeated the Sydney Swans only a few weeks back. It is also meant to be a bit damp, which make suit the contested nature of the Roos.

North Melbourne by 14.
