There looks to be a good card of racing at Dubbo today. With seven races set down, the depth IS looking pretty good across the board. Here are my five plays for the meeting.

Bet One: Each Way, Race One, Number 10 Strykingly So
Brian Gentle trains this gelding, who was unwanted in betting last time out at Parkes where he was up near the speed throughout and fought on well to run third. This race doesn’t carry much depth and if he can get over from the gate, he will run very well at odds.

Bet Two: Win, Race Two, Number 10 Tayrose
Aleacia Bennett trains this filly and I think she’s a near good thing with normal luck. Heavily backed last time out at Tamworth but just did a bit too much work early with a narrow second to Petra Jewel. Better luck here and I think she wins.

Bet Three: Win, Race Three, Number 2 Zeta’s Rocket
This is a tricky race but I think this Cameron Crockett trained gelding can get the job done. Attempted to lead all the way last time out at Parkes and gave a good kick but Got Nothing surged hard late and grabbed him on the peg. Senior jock back on, happy to butter up.

Bet Four: Win, Race Five, Number 4 Barricade
Has the potential to be a Highway horse and I reckon he can get there via a win here. Five weeks between runs since racing over 1300m at Narromine where he had a suck run just off the pace before angling to clear air and finishing best to get the win. Good record at Dubbo and maps well.

Bet Five: Each Way, Race Six, Number 5 Moqwao
He’s a bludger but up to the mile on a track he has won at previously, I reckon he can run a race at odds. Just got a mile off them last time out at Mudgee and was never in the hunt. Hopefully he can sit closer in the run here and at each way odds, happy to have something on, perhaps 1×3.
