The Socceroos are set to get their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign underway against European behemoths France. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the World Cup match or watching it on TV.

Socceroos vs France live scores, blog

The match will be at the Kazan Arena in Kazan, and it set to kick-off at 8pm (AEST) (1:00pm local time) on Friday, June 15.

Australia will have their work cut out for them to make it out of an extremely difficult Group C. France (No. 7) are their highest-ranked opponent in the group stage, but their other opponents in Peru (No. 11) and Denmark (No. 12) are no minnows.

How to watch the match on TV

While SBS will only be broadcasting a selection of World Cup matches this tournament – as opposed to previous editions where they’ve had every game – they will be showing every Socceroos match live on free-to-air television.

Their pre-match coverage of the first Socceroos game will begin at 7pm (AEST) – immediately after the news – before the game itself kicks off at 8pm.

There are two options available to those who’d rather stream the match online.

You can catch any game SBS are showing on TV on either The World Game website or app.

The app can be downloaded through your device’s official app store.

If you want to watch every World Cup match live, however, you’ll need to be a subscriber to the Optus Sport app.

An Optus Sport subscription is included in most Optus mobile or broadband plans, while non-Optus customers can still access this app for a $15-per-month subscription fee.

Optus Sport will have their own pre-game and post-game coverage for every match on the app, while they will also have full match replays available on demand as well.

The Roar will, as always, be covering the match too with a live blog and highlights.
