A nine-race card has been set down for Flemington on Saturday while the Parks track at Morphettville will host Adelaide racing this weekend. With an eventful few days, here are my five plays across the two cards.

Bet one: Win – Flemington Race One – number four, Star Fall
I think he wins and just has to tick the 1400m.

I don’t think he beat much last time out over 1200m at Ballarat.

However, he was led all the way and smashed the clock sectionals-wise relative to the day and did it without being fully extended.

My only query is the 1400m but hopefully, he gets a soft lead.

Bet two: Win – Flemington Race Two – number one, Creativity
I think she’s one of the best on the card.

The Ellerton/Zahra team have this girl absolutely flying at the moment with her latest run coming in the Moonlover race at the Valley where she was a good thing beaten.

She has run well on her home track and I think 1400m will be okay.

Bet three: Each Way – Flemington Race Three – number seven, Order Of Command
Deal me out of Nature Strip and have something each way on this bloke instead.

Gee has been sharp in two runs back from a break. He resumed with a dominant win at Geelong before heading to Ballarat on a wet track – but that didn’t matter to the gelding.

He absolutely bolted in and made a mess of a field which looked to have depth, including Choisborder – who bolted up at Bendigo.

There is more depth here, but have to like the way he is going.

Bet four: Each Way – Flemington Race Seven – number six, Master Reset
This is a tricky race.

I can’t back Ozi Choice at the price. Instead, I’ll have something each way on this bloke.

He can be hit-and-miss at times but one thing we do know is that he is a bomb when fresh.

He won two and placed in another three from seven fresh runs.

The Cranbourne trial was solid enough but had two jump outs, which were much better, so he’s been given a really good grounding to run well first up.

Bet five: Win – Morphettville Parks Race Six – number two, Embecee Lil
This is a tough card on the Parks track but I think she’s the standout.

She is a quality mare for Ryan Balfour who resumed over 1300m here a fortnight back where she just got run off her legs.

However, her finale was very good behind Hussy’s Glow.

Being back to 1250m is the concern, but I think she has the class to beat these and keen to bet up.
