Hawthorn will look to try and crack the top eight before the weekend finishes with a win over the Gold Coast Suns in Tasmania, Gold Coast will look to try and resurrect a season that is in free fall after starting with some hope.
Hawthorn have had an up and down season at times this year but are riding back to back wins and will look to make it three in a row.
Gold Coast have lost their last seven and are coming off an absolutely heartbreaking loss to the Saints in the previous round.
Tasmania has always been a strong home for the Hawks despite some losses in recent seasons they are still a daunting prospect for any team down south.
The Suns however have recent form against the Hawks and despite neither of the games being played in Tasmania the Suns will hope that form from last season can continue on Saturday.
Final quarter struggles have been the talking point for the Suns who have scored just four points from their previous four final quarters including being held scoreless last weekend as the Saints ran over the top of them.
Hawthorn will have two potential last minute changes to their side with Paul Puopolo and Ben McEvoy awaiting the arrival of babies this weekend, at this stage it may be wise to count them out of the team just in case.
The potential loss of both players could hurt the Hawks but with the strength of opponent being taken into consideration it may not matter.
Gold Coast will just want to put on a solid display for an entire game this week after last week started so well, if they can make a contest out of it for the full game then first year coach Stuart Dew will be happy with his side.
Alastair Clarkson won’t want his men to drop what could be a crucial game going into the second half of the season and will expect nothing less than a dominant display across the board.
Hawthorn being a far better team on paper and their recent record in Tasmania should be more than enough to get them the win over the Suns. If Gold Coast want to turn their season around though this week may be the best time to do it by catching the Hawks off guard.
