France and Denmark have played out a dour nil all draw as both nations secure passage into the round of 16 at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

It has been a tough group campaign for both Denmark and France, but the cream rises to the top eventually and both European nations are through to the knockout stages.

France made a host of changes to their starting 11 and rested several of their stars as they prepare for a possible contest against Nigeria, Iceland or Argentina.

Denmark meanwhile will prepare for a knockout match against Croatia or Nigeria and will need to improve if they hope to cause an upset in the round of 16.

Despite a first half chance for Giroud, neither France or Denmark were never threatened this afternoon as both teams simply played through the motions in a match that never reached any great heights.

Now, both teams will prepare for the knockout stages where anything is possible. Congratulations to France and Denmark.
