The Sunshine Coast will host their biggest race day on Saturday with Caloundra Cup Day, while the Civic Stakes highlights racing from Rosehill. Here are my suggested bets across the two meetings.

Bet One – Each Way – Sunshine Coast Race One Number 4 Glitra
I think this bloke is a crazy price at $20+ in the opener. This gelding was formerly trained by John Sprague at Port Macquarie but is now with the Hulbert team at Eagle Farm, and the stable does have a pretty good record with these tried horses.

Two trials leading in have been quite good and this field does look thin depth wise. Think he’ll run a beauty.

Bet Two – Each Way – Sunshine Coast Race Two Number 12 Pressway
I’ve made him the best of the day up north, so surprised we are getting close to double figures. Opening two runs this time in were outstanding in defeat prior to racing at Toowoomba where he was off the map and despite being flat footed on the turn, he picked up and his class came to the fore late.

Great record here, hard fit…ticks the boxes.

Bet Three – Win – Sunshine Coast Race Seven Number 3 Seaway
Hard to go against a Waller runner and this bloke looks to have been set for this race. His run in the Queensland Guineas was a beauty when a close up second to stablemate Sambro. Loomed to win but the winner just packed too many punches.

If we get the right odds and nothing silly short, he’ll take some beating. $3+ I’d want.

Bet Four – Win – Rosehill Race Two Number 4 Bocelli
He looks one of the best on the card. Tash Burleigh trains this very promising gelding, who I think will be a Country Championships horse for next year. Backed off the map last time out at Goulburn and under Corey Brown, he absolutely trotted in and smashed the clock in the process.

Dynamic Dynasty franked that form at Scone, but this horse does look very good. Anything over $3 is acceptable.

Bet Five – Win – Rosehill Race Nine Number 13 Redouble
He’ll do me in the get out. Bjorn Baker trains this galloper, who resumed at this track/distance a fortnight back and worked home pretty well late, clocking some good splits behind Albumin.

Went like a bomb in a trial here on Monday and appears spot on for this assignment. Hopefully sits handy and has last say.
