Match preview:

The Penrith Panthers are looking to consolidate their top-four spot when they host the Manly Sea Eagles. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 3pm (AEST).

Most of the players in both teams should be fairly fresh after the rep round bye. The Panthers had five players in action (Blues trio Nathan Cleary, James Moloney and Tyrone Peachey, along with Kiwis Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and James Fisher-Harris), while the Sea Eagles had three (the Trbojevic brothers for NSW and Martin Taupau for New Zealand).

Penrith will also be bolstered by the return of rampaging backrower Viliame Kikau from a knee injury, but are missing Reagan Campbell-Gillard, who fractured his cheekbone in the club’s most recent game, a 32-6 loss to the Roosters. James Tamou will start in his place.

Five-eighth Dylan Walker returns from a fractured eye socket for Manly, while young hooker Manase Fainu will make his debut after taking Jackson Hastings’ spot in the top 30. Akuila Uate is out for the season after injuring his ankle playing for Fiji last week in their Test match against the Papua New Guinea Kumuls.

Penrith start the match as heavy favourites, but they may not have it all their own way. On paper, Manly are a better team than their lowly place on the ladder suggests.

Prediction:
Penrith by 10.
