The Melbourne Demons will look to get their season back on track with a win over the Fremantle Dockers in the top end. Join The Roar for live scores from the match at TIO Stadium on Saturday night in Round 16 of the 2018 AFL season, starting from 7:40pm AEST.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Melbourne Demons were being talked up as a club that had radically improved and could finish in the top four this year or even contend for the premiership.

However things have changed pretty quickly in the last month – Melbourne will enter this game on a three-match losing streak, having dropped points against Collingwood, Port Adelaide and St Kilda.

The losses to the Pies and Power could be considered somewhat forgivable as these are strong teams and, while disappointed not to be beating them, Dees fans could hardly have considered them a sure thing.

However last week’s two-point loss to St Kilda was arguably Melbourne’s most disappointing offering for the season so far.

Fremantle, on the other hand, look to be having yet another so-so season after finishing in the lower reaches of the ladder for the last two years.

Their plight has been made much worse by news that Nat Fyfe is set to miss a month or more of football thanks to a hamstring injury.

Finals wasn’t really a realistic goal for them before that news, but it’s completely off the table now, and it could be a painful end to the year.

One interesting fact to note, this will be the first time that siblings Angus and Andrew Brayshaw have played against each other in the AFL.

Prediction
Melbourne should get back on the horse with a comfortable win.
