Port Adelaide come into this match on a four-game winning streak and they’ll be confident of making it five coming up against one of the season’s bottom sides.

Port have beaten Richmond, the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne and Carlton in the past month – a not entirely unimpressive collection of scalps.

The end result is that they find themselves fifth on the ladder, level on wins with second place and just held back by percentage.

Sydney losing last night presents them with a golden opportunity to leapfrog the Swans and gain a top four spot by the end of the week if they can win this one.

Usually that’d be a win we just assume will happen but St Kilda have been reasonably impressive inside the last two weeks.

After winning just one of their first twelve games of the season, they’ve now had back-to-back victories, and both funnily enough coming by a margin of two points.

Gold Coast weren’t much of a scalp but last week’s win over Melbourne was easily the Saints’ most impressive effort of the year to date.

Prediction
Although St Kilda have built some positive momentum in the past fortnight, it’s hard to see them making it three in a row here.

With the home ground advantage and a team that looks comfortably better on paper, expect Port Adelaide to get the win without too much fuss.
