Daria Kasatkina vs Angelique Kerber: Wimbledon women's quarter-final live scores

By Scott Pryde / Expert

Women’s quarter-final day on Centre Court at Wimbledon gets underway with former world No.1 Angelique Kerber looking to get back to her best against Daria Kasatkina. Join The Roar for live scores from 10pm (AEST).

After a superb 2016, in which she won major tournaments all over the world, Kerber was the best player on the planet for a length of time.

But 2017 was a rough stretch, as Kerber fell down the rankings, owing to a lack of form and a number of injuries.

She has had something of a resurgence this year though, with the German almost back into the top ten after strong runs at both the Australian and French Opens.

At the All England Club so far she has lost just one set, coming in the second round. Since then, she has cruised past Naomi Osaka and Belinda Bencic, with the 11th seed dominating from the baseline.

Kasatkina is somewhat a surprise quarter-finalist, but her power has been on display for all to see, bouncing back from 5-0 down against Ashleigh Barty in the first set of the third round to win in straight sets, before going past Alison Van Uytvanck in the fourth round.

Still, she will have to start strongly and be better at getting into opposition service games if she is to break down Kerber and advance.

The pair have had six previous meetings, splitting them at three apiece. Kerber, however, won their only previous meeting on grass, earlier this year at Eastbourne.

The winner here will take on either Dominika Cibulkova or Jelena Ostapenko in the semi-finals.

Prediction
Kasatkina’s form has been strong through the first four rounds of the tournament, but battling Kerber is going to be a bridge too far.

Kerber in three sets.
