The final match on centre court during manic Monday at Wimbledon will see world No.1 Rafael Nadal looking to continue his run of dominant form against the big-serving Jiri Vesely. Join The Roar for live scores from around 1:30am (AEST).

Nadal was never expected to run into any problems across the first three rounds, but the level of dominance he has maintained has been somewhat surprising.

Due to the heat and weather around London in the first week of the tournaments, it would appear the courts are playing both a little slower and with a little more bounce than usual.

While the level of hitting from his opponents haven’t forced the issue, Nadal has been so far able to sit back on the baseline and play the same punishing groundstrokes which took him through to an 11th French Open title unscathed.

The world No.1 beat Alex De Minaur in the third round of the tournament, with the final scoreline reflecting Nadal’s level of play, ending 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.

Vesely has had a few more problems through the first three rounds, but the world No.93 has beaten some handy players in Florian Mayer, Diego Schwartzman and Fabio Foginini.

The first and third of those matches saw him taken to four sets, but he has come away with comfortable victories in each of them, going to show the form he displayed in the lead-up to Wimbledon wasn’t a false hope.

Still, taking on Nadal is a different world.

Time Nadal has lost previously have seen players belt him from the get-go, using their serve and groundstrokes to dominate the match. It’s unlikely the weapons Vesely possesses will allow him to play such a game.

Prediction
Vesely’s style of play might just give Nadal a few problems here. Nadal should hang on though, given the form he is in and the way the courts have been playing due to the heat around Wimbledon over the first week of the tournament.

Nadal in straight sets.
