There’s some really good racing right across Australia on Wednesday, with good meetings set down. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet 1: Each Way – Warwick Farm Race 1, No. 3: Estroverto
Pretty tricky maiden over the mile and I think this bloke represents a bit of each way value.

Debuted over 1300m at Wyong where he looked a bit at sea on the tight track, but his last 150m once balanced up, he knuckled down and was pretty good I thought. Up to the mile a big tick and stable finds McDonald to steer.

Bet: $25 E/W (Tote)

Bet 2: Win – Warwick Farm Race 5, No. 3: Mr Haussmann
Looks the winner, but even money? C’mon. Far too short.

Two Australian runs have been pretty good, most notably the latest when a closing fourth to Seahampton on Saturday at Randwick. If the track is playing okay towards those on the inside, he wins. But I think take the tote and hopefully, we can get better.

Bet: $40 Win (Tote)

Bet 3: Win – Sandown Race 2, No. 11: Cataracta
It is a city maiden, but it’s one of the weaker metro maidens I’ve come across, so I think this filly gets a great chance.

Debuted at Sale where she was hard in the market and after sitting outside the leader, she looked home, but was pipped near the peg by The Queen’s Regent. Gate one and gets C Williams on. Ticks the boxes for me.

Bet: $30 Win at $3.4 (Sportsbet)

Bet 4: Multi – Ipswich Race 2, No. 1: Reckless Choice, Race 4, No. 6: Asharani
Would have stood out Reckless Choice but $1.60 thereabouts is skinny. He should be winning even though he is a couple of months between runs but recent trial win looked very slick.

First starter Asharani should be winning also. On debut for David Vandyke and she has looked very good in a couple of trials and gets Lloyd on. Take that multi.

Bet: $40 Win at $2.88 (Crownbet)

Bet 5: Win – Morphettville Parks Race 6, No. 2: Laure Me In
Price is gone thanks to scratchings, but I think black figures is good enough for a horse who really should be a $1.50 chance.

Really good resumption over 1400m here when looking home but was pipped by the hard fit Bungalelly Belle. That form reads well and the tick over trial at Murray Bridge last week was pretty good to the eye.

Bet: $50 Win at $2.10 (Neds)
