Four meetings set down for Tuesday, and to be fair the confidence isn’t high with tough programs. Still, here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One- Multi- Albury Race One Number 9 Spudfest
One last chance. No more if he gets rolled here. I’m willing to forgive the horse for his effort at Naracoorte last time. The horse just took control of Mikaela Lawrence and the horse pulled its head off, overdoing it on speed and tiring late.

Nick Souquet will win the battle with the horse this time and Visors on FT hopefully straightens him out.

Bet: $20 Win at $5.5 (Crownbet)

Bet Two- Win- Albury Race Two Number 1 Shoplifter
Just has to overcome the gate and I think he’ll be far too good for this lot. Been well backed his past couple and while he hasn’t got the job done, he has been close up, the latest at Wangaratta in a race which has already produced two subsequent winners.

Racha Cuneen is a very good rider from New Zealand so don’t be put off by the unknown rider.

Bet: $25 Win at $4 (Sportsbet)

Bet Three- Each Way- Albury Race Four Number 2 Gentleman Max
Surprised we are getting near double figures for this iron, who generally holds his form once he finds it. Loomed large to win last week at Wagga but just found the class of Cash Crisis a bit too good on the day in a narrow defeat.

No horse of that class here and is a proven weight carrier so 54-59.5kg is no issue.

Bet: $5 Win/$15 Place at $10/$3.25 (William Hill)

Bet Four- Each Way- Albury Race Six Number 6 Mirimbah
Another that appears good odds. Gerald Egan trains this mare, who has had two runs back from a spell. Forgive the resumption on a bog at Wodonga before being freshened up and going to Echuca where she was much better when a close up fourth to Zoot Suit Riot.

Third up, with the claim for in form apprentice Josh Richards, I reckon she’ll run a beauty.

Bet: $5 Win/$15 Place at $13/$4 (Crownbet)

Bet Five- Win- Cairns Race Four Number 3 Gold Cufflinks
Even money looks rock bottom odds, but he’s the one to beat, so I reckon take the tote and you’ll get $2.50+, hopefully.

Ran over the Townsville mile last time out and worked home okay late in the piece when a close up fourth to the in form Lady Skills. Back to 1400m is the reason why I think he’s too short in betting. If it was a mile, I’d take any price.

Bet: $40 Win (Tote)

Total Spend: $105
