The Broncos’ Josh McGuire faces a one-week ban for an incident against Canterbury’s Adam Elliott last night where he observed to be pulling Elliott’s hair.

McGuire has been charged with ‘contrary conduct’ by the NRL Match Review Committee, rated as a grade-1 charge and copping an extra loading due to having been involved in two similar offences in the last two years.

The end result is that McGuire can either accept a one-match ban or look to challenge the ruling, in which case he’ll risk a two-match ban if found guilty.

Given the circumstances, it seems unlikely the Broncos would consider going down that path.

The incident occurred in the 24th minute of last night’s match between the Bulldogs and the Broncos at ANZ Stadium.

Canterbury won the match 36-22.
