Have you ever been on your Monday morning commute after a busy week of footy and thought there’s nothing you’d like more than to listen to a top-notch AFL podcast on your way into work… but can’t find one? Problem solved.

Today on The Roar we’re launching the Monday Morning AFL Podcast, so that you can log on every Monday morning for your AFL listening fix, as we discuss all the big issues – and some of the small ones – to come out of the week.

This week weekend editor Josh Elliott hosts racing expert (and AFL aficionado) Matt Nicholls following the conclusion of Round 20 to talk about what’s making news in the league right now.

The big talking point to come out of the round of course has been Andrew Gaff’s hit on Andrew Brayshaw in the western derby. Matt and Josh talk about how long Gaff’s suspension is likely to be, and what impact it’s going to have on West Coast’s season and finals campaign.

Matt and Josh also talk about the brilliant round of footy it was and what that means for the rule change debate, who will make finals and who – if anyone – can knock Richmond off in September, whether or not Josh Jenkins should’ve been denied the match-winning goal in the Showdown, where will Tom J Lynch play in 2019, and should Carlton get a priority pick in the 2018 draft?

Be sure to give the podcast a listen – it’s perfect for your Monday morning commute, but you can listen any time of week! – and let us know what you think in the comments.
