There are three meetings set down for Tuesday, and I am quite keen on one at huge odds. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet 1: Win – Scone Race 5, number seven: Dame Kiri
I don’t think she has to be a world beater to take out this event. She was a tough debut winner at Tamworth prior to racing over 1000 metres here where she placed behind a potential city class horse in I Am A Cool Kid. She should get a lovely run off a likely hot speed and Greg Ryan jumps back on. She’ll do me in the first leg of the quaddie.

Win odds: $2.80 (Sportsbet)

Bet 2: Win – Scone Race 8, number eight: Kulnura
This is a good race to end the card, but I can’t believe this horse isn’t nearly favourite. I like Smith as a horse, but $2.80 is short enough for a horse who is deep into a prep, whereas Kulnura has upside. He arguably should have won last time but wanted to lay in and was a horror to ride for Louise Day. Digger McLellan is on now and the blinkers are on for the first time to hopefully straighten him up.

Win odds: $4.20 (Sportsbet)

Bet 3: Win – Moruya Race 5, number one: Napoli
I must be missing something here. We’ve got a horse that’s in form with decent provincial form next to his name. He’s hard fit, Heywood is riding in great form, he finally gets blinkers on for the first time – so why is he $3.90? He should be $2.50, perhaps shorter, against this lot. If he puts it together, he’ll be winning.

Win odds: $3.90 (Crownbet)

Bet 4: Each-way – Warracknabeal Race 6, number ten: Disco Rebel
Why on earth is this girl at $31-plus to win? She should be around the $10 to $15 mark, so clear overs. I loved her debut win before she raced in a pretty strong race at Morphettville where she was run off her legs when they dashed for home, but she picked up and was really good to the line and through it. A race over 1800 metres is a big tick, and I always respect Sue Jaensch runners.

Win odds: $26; Each-way odds: $5.5 (Neds)

Bet 5: Win – Warracknabeal Race 9, number 11: Champagne Friday
This looks a lovely race for this girl, trained by Darren Weir. She took a while to break the maiden tag, but it finally came out of the way last time out over the mile at Echuca when getting the lovely sit off the pace. Once she got clear air it was game over. Now she has a win on the board, hopefully she can go on with it.

Win bet: Tote
