There is some decent racing across the board on Sunday, with one horse I’m quite keen on at the Sunshine Coast.

Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Win – Narromine Race Eight Number 1 The Rouseabout
Declaring a horse ridden by G Ryan who looks a moral…recipe for disaster, but this horse does look the winner in the get out on Cup Day. Had his first run for the stable over 1200m at Warren and he was very good in getting the job done.

His form has been franked and I know the stable purchased this horse from Victoria with the Country Championships in mind. If he’s heading down that path, he’d want to be winning this.

Bet: $45 Win (Tote)

Bet Two – Win – Wagga Race Two Number 2 Wanna Get A What
Missed out on black figures but I still think $1.95 is acceptable for a horse who should be probably around $1.50-$1.60. This bloke has been pretty good at Randwick at his past couple.

Forgive him for last start because he pulled up 2/5 lame. There should be good cushion in the Wagga track and I expect Sweeney to burn the candle, lead and hopefully win.

Bet: $100 Win at $1.95 (Crownbet)

Bet Three – Win – Port Augusta Race Five Number 2 Owl On The Prowl
I think he’s a great bet on what looks a very tough meeting at Port Augusta. Jordan Frew has this bloke going great guns at the moment. Good resumption before a flat second-up effort over the mile.

He came back to the 1396m and he absolutely bolted in under Jemma Frew, leading throughout. Bit of speed drawn inside but if he can over or get cover, clearly the horse to beat.

Bet: $25 Win at $4 (Crownbet)

Bet Four – Win – Sunshine Coast Race Four Number 3 Cailini
Cailini is a very good youngster in her own right for Tony Gollan who was scratched from the 3YO race at Doomben on Saturday. Was well backed when debuting at Ipswich and despite doing plenty wrong in the run, she was far too good for her rivals.

I think she’s blacktype quality. Surprised she isn’t the favourite.

Bet: $100 Win at $4.50 (Neds)

Bet Five – Win – Sunshine Coast Race Five Number 2 Hieroglyphics
This race will tell us where this girl is at. Formerly with Team Cummings, she has had two runs for the Stuart Kendrick stable, both in quality races over 1200m and she just doesn’t run the trip out.

This is a firm track, fresh, she’s back to 1000m and there is no depth at all to this field. If she brings her best, she should be odds on and winning. I’ll take the gamble.

Bet: $40 Win at $2.90 (Crownbet)

Total spent: $310
