Wallaroos vs Black Ferns: Start time, broadcast information, finish time

By The Roar / Editor

The Wallaroos play alongside the Wallabies for the first time in a Bledisloe Cup double-header when they take on the Black Ferns. This is The Roar’s guide to all the key information you need to know about the game.

The match is set to begin at 5:30pm (AEST) on Saturday, August 18 at ANZ Stadium.

13 uncapped players will take part in Saturday afternoon’s game as the Wallaroos, led by captain Liz Patu, run out for their first international game since last year’s world cup.

It will also offer their inexperienced players with the perfect chance to stake their claims for a spot in Australia’s 2021 Women’s World Cup squad.

The Wallaroos have a tough assignment ahead of them though, as New Zealand won the most recent clash between the pair at Eden Park by 64 points.

How to watch the game on TV

If you want to make the most of Saturday’s double-header, Foxtel subscribers can catch the women’s game exclusively on Channel 501.

Their coverage will begin at approximately 5pm (AEST) and will wrap up two hours later in preparation for the main event.

How to live stream the game online

You can still catch the game live if you can’t get to a TV, but you’ll need to be a Foxtel subscriber to do so.

Foxtel customers can stream the match online through the Foxtel App. The app is free to download and use, but only if you set up a valid account.

If you are not a Foxtel customer, you can view the contest through Foxtel Now. It is a streaming-only option, with subscription packages available for purchase.

Of course, here at The Roar we will have our own coverage of the game, including a dedicated blog of the match.

19-3 hALFTIME. Score doesn’t flatter Oz girls. They have worked really hard with limited possession but managed to shut down Black Ferns’ midfield really well and force numerous handling errors and turnovers. Holding their own at scrum time too and despite having a woman in the bin they remain competitive and well organised. NZ maul really dangerous and efffective.Cocksedge the difference although the Oz 9 has been super impressive too.

Disappointing there is no coverage without paying for Foxtel. Given my reduced level of interest in the current Wallabies setup, I'd prefer to see the womens game.

As a big black ferns fan, I'm a touch disappointed that NZ has decided to rest all their World Cup winning Sevens stars for this match... So they have brought in 5 debutantes. We will be seeing a lot of fresh talent on both women's sides, which hopefully means a closer exciting match. Can't wait.
