Are you looking to find out Winx’s expected racing schedule for the remainder of the year? This is The Roar’s guide to where and when Winx will be racing in 2018.
Winx made history on Saturday afternoon when she recorded her 26th consecutive win in the Group 1 Winx Stakes.
The victory broke the previous Australian record of 25 straight by the now-retired Black Caviar.
It wasn’t the only record that she broke, with Winx also becoming just the 14th horse to cross the line first 30 times or more in a career.
Everyone is now eagerly awaiting her next race to see how much longer she can keep this winning streak going.
As always, Winx will be racing in the Group 1 Cox Plate on Saturday, October 27. Last year, the champion mare became just the second horse in Australian racing history alongside Kingston Town to win the Plate three times.
All eyes will be on Winx in just over two months as she attempts to make history and secure her fourth victory in the event.
In the meantime, if last year’s schedule is anything to go by, Winx will take part in another three races in the lead-up to the Cox Plate.
The first is the Group 2 Tattersalls Club Chelmsford Stakes on Saturday, September 1. Winx won last year’s race.
However, only the year prior, trainer Chris Waller scratched the horse from the event after rain impacted the surface.
Winx is also expected to run in this year’s Group 1 George Main Stakes which will be raced a fortnight later at Saturday, September 15.
Her final race before the Cox Plate is anticipated to be at the Group 1 Seppelt Turnbull Stakes on Saturday, October 6.
If she races in all three, Winx will be aiming for an incredible 30th straight win when she participates in the Cox Plate.
