Usain Bolt will look to prove the doubters wrong when he lines up for his first trial as the Central Coast Mariners take on the Central Coast Select. This is The Roar’s guide on how to watch the game on TV and online.

The match is scheduled for kick-off on Friday, August 31 at 7:30pm (AEST) at Central Coast Stadium. It could be Bolt’s official first hit-out in Mariners colours after the 32-year old sat out last week’s one-all draw with the Newcastle Jets.

Despite not actually setting foot on the field, the 3,500-people strong crowd at Maitland were excited just to see the Jamaican product, so the atmosphere is expected to be electric on Friday night if Bolt finally runs out.

The sprint superstar signed a trial deal with the Mariners and will need to impress if he is to feature in the regular A-league season.

How to watch on TV

Fox Sports channel 505 will be broadcasting Friday night’s game live, with a pre-game show set to begin at 7pm (AEST) as Australia eagerly waits to see if Bolt will finally make his Mariners debut.

This means you’ll be able to watch the match on TV so long as you have a valid Foxtel TV subscription.

Their coverage should wrap up at approximately 9:30pm.

How to watch online

There are two ways that you can catch Friday night’s trial online.

The first is available to Foxtel subscribers. They can stream the coverage of the match through the Foxtel App. This app is free to download and can be used if you have an account, including a valid email.

If you are not an existing Foxtel customer, there’s no need to stress, you can still watch the game online. You will need to use Foxtel Now though. It is a streaming-only option, with subscription packages available for purchase.

Otherwise, here at The Roar, we will have live scores and a dedicated blog of the match, so you can keep updated on whether Bolt actually runs out.
