After securing the minor premiership with a win over the Parramatta Eels this weekend, the Sydney Roosters will host the Cronulla Sharks, who themselves locked in a top-four spot by beating the Bulldogs on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the other qualifying final will see the Melbourne Storm hold home ground advantage over the South Sydney Rabbitohs, as those sides finished second and third respectively.
Amazingly the difference between fifth and sixth not only saw the teams level on wins, but also on points differential, with the Panthers finishing ahead by virtue of having conceded the least points.
That means that they’ll be hosting the New Zealand Warriors in an elimination final, while the Brisbane Broncos will host the St George Illawarra Dragons.
It shapes as being one of the most even finals campaigns as history as the Roosters in first have finished the season with only one more win to their name than the New Zealand Warriors in eighth.
The order of the top four and the order of the lower four were both decided through further tiebreakers as all sides inside each group finished on the same number of wins.
