Several programs have been assembled for Friday, with Port Macquarie Cup Day as the highlight. Here are my five plays for the afternoon and evening.

Bet One – Win – Port Macquarie Race Five Number 1 Waitandwatch
The market will be the guide but I think if he’s right, he wins. Quality animal for Angela Davies who resumes here. He hasn’t raced since December 9 last year when pulling up badly lame behind Drachenfels.

He’s been given a few trials to prepare for his return and to my eye, he’s flying if they are any guide and has handled the wet tracks comfortably.

Bet: $30 Win at $4.4 (Sportsbet)

Bet Two – Win – Canberra Race Seven Number 7 Who’s Knocking
Confident this mare can bounce into the winners’ list. She ran over 1200m here a fortnight back and just gave away too much head start but finished off with real purpose late to run second to Bring A Secret.

Gets a little weight pull on that horse here and she’ll be suited at the 1400m. Really keen on her chances.

Bet: $50 Win (Tote)

Bet Three – Each Way – Ipswich Race Five Number 7 Thumbs Up
Prices weren’t up at the time of writing so I’m hoping we can get an each way price. She had something on her each way last time at Toowoomba and worked home strongly but Greywolf had the suck run nearer the inside and proved too good.

That was her first run in three weeks, so she should have upside and any rain won’t hurt.

Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)

Bet Four – Win – Moonee Valley Race Four Number 5 Written Choice
Written Choice looks a near good thing to my eye. Logan McGill trains this talented four-year-old, who was confidently backed when resuming over 1000m at Ballarat but unfortunately for his backers, he just got caught wide and that pretty much would have sealed his fate yet he fought on and would have won in another hop.

He was a brilliant second-up winner last time in and this looks a lovely assignment.

Bet: $50 Win at $2.5 (BetEasy)

Bet Five – Win – Moonee Valley Race Five Number 11 Interram
Looks a lovely assignment for Interram, trained by Darren Weir. I thought he was very good on debut at Kilmore before going to Mildura where she looked a good thing on paper and she rightfully won, bolting up at the short quote under Yendall. She can only improve off that and rates highly for mine.

Bet: $50 Win at $2.8 (BetEasy)
