Queensland racing metro this Saturday heads to Doomben for a nine-race card while the Parks track at Morphettville hosts Adelaide racing. Here are my five plays across the two meetings.

Bet One – Win – Doomben Race Three Number 10 Niedorp
She’s the pick of the triallers for the fillies so bit surprised she isn’t a clear favourite. She looks a really good prospect for Tony Gollan who trialled here a couple of weeks back and she absolutely bolted in, winning by a space under little pressure and the time for the morning matched up well with the older horses, which is always a good sign.

I’d be surprised if she gets rolled.

Bet Two – Each Way – Doomben Race Five Number 3 Niccanova
D-Day for him but I’m confident he can win. Jury was out after a couple of below par efforts to start the prep. Steve Tregea then gave the horse a couple of months off and he was much better last time over 1200m here when beaten narrowly by Tversky.

He’s fitter, up to 1350m, back in depth and he looks extremely hard to beat.

Bet Three – Win – Doomben Race Seven Number 1 Defence Missile
He’s just so reliable and a safe bet for mine. Les Ross trains this three year old, who has won his past two and has showed really good grit at his past couple, the latest when winning over 1000m at the Sunny Coast, with the win having merit after coming back 200m in trip.

Back up to the six furlongs, he’s likeable.

Bet Four – Win – Morphettville Parks Race Four Number 5 Nodoubtaboutit
Flick her for good if she can’t put this lot away. Overall, she has been a big flop this time in, constantly in the market and continually running below par. Been freshened up, the blinkers are off and she was one of the better triallers of the morning here last Thursday.

She should get the run of the race off a hot speed and have last look. Very keen on her but it’s the last chance.

Bet Five – Win – Morphettville Parks Race Seven Number 5 Montaser
Short but should be winning. This bloke hasn’t raced since March 2 over the mile at Moonee Valley where getting back and finishing off okay late behind Peruggia, but was found to be lame post race.

Impressive first up on debut last time in and a recent jump out was pretty good. Happy to be with him.
