Some good racing has been assembled for Wednesday, with some lovely types stepping out at Warwick Farm the main focus. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Each Way – Warwick Farm Race One Number 1 That Song
The Godolphin colt looks the one to beat, but even money is far too short. I’d much rather back That Song, a Hayes/Dabernig gelding resuming. He debuted at Caulfield back in mid-May and closed off really well late behind Rock Hard, who was one of the form youngsters in Melbourne during that time.

He’s been given a good break, has jumped out well and on breeding, the wet track should be fine.

Bet: $20 Win at $5.5 (Sportsbet)

Bet Two – Win – Warwick Farm Race Four Number 2 Waruna
I think she’s a great bet here. Kris Lees trains this mare, who is third up here. Fresh she just looked in need of the run at Taree before going to Coffs Harbour, and on face value, that form wouldn’t stack up in town, but I loved the way she knuckled down late when challenged and drew clear.

Being out of a Reset mare, the wet track should be no issue and she is a proven weight carrier.

Bet: $50 Win at $4.2 (BetEasy)

Bet Three – Each Way – Warwick Farm Race Six Number 11 Power Rush
I’m a big fan of Power Rush and I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t go close. She debuted with a pretty sharp maiden win at Tamworth before going straight to a provincial Class One at Wyong where she was heavily backed and under a lovely ride from Jason Collett, she proved far too good for them.

I’m confident she goes close here with the right run.

Bet: $15 Win/$25 Place at $7/$2.4 (BetEasy)

Bet Four – Win – Ipswich Race Seven Number 9 Intrinsic
She’s been frustrating to follow throughout her career but I think at her best, she’s too good for this lot. She ran at the Sunny Coast last time and ran on okay without really threatening behind Seductive Dream.

Perhaps racing outside horses will suit her and the slight drop in depth gives her every chance to win.

Bet: $30 Win (Tote)

Bet Five – Each Way – Warwick Farm Race Seven Number 1 Girl Tuesday/Bendigo Race Six Number 10 Ringerdingding
Pretty confident this multi-lands. Girl Tuesday is a Stakes class mare and though she’s been up a little while, there are no signs of her stopping and the win last time at Rosehill was outstanding. Looks the winner.

Ringerdingding just has to run somewhere near his best and he’s an odds-on pop, not a $2.40 chance. I loved his first run for Weir at the Valley when a narrow second to Sunset Watch, coming wide off a moderate tempo. He should win barring bad luck.

Bet: $100 at $3.96 (Sportsbet)

Total spent: $240
