With four meeting across the board on Thursday, I think we’ll see a rather progressive stayer at Wyong. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.
Bet one: Win – Wyong – Race Five – number three, Fast Train
Fast Train wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Spring Champion. With that, I’m all over him against this lot.
Yes, it was only just a Hawkesbury maiden, but the gap he put on them was that of a Derby prospect. The blinkers really did the trick and I’d be shocked if he didn’t put these away.

Bet two: Win – Mornington – Race One – number five, Zoumanor
He’s got a bit of a boom on him this colt so I’ll jump on the bandwagon. This well-bred colt is having his first start for Robbie Laing and he has looked very good in three public trials at Cranbourne, the latest running a close up -ourth.
Blinkers, Cross Over Nose Band on, so there looks to be a chance for a debut win.

Bet three: Win – Mornington – Race Three – number 14, Scamper
This looks the best of the day at Mornington and perhaps day. Team Corstens trains this filly, who had the blinkers on last time at Bendigo where she just raced a fraction keen and taking away her to a second-place finish to Zargos.
They’re off and she draws a soft gate, so she gets her chance despite the 1100-1500 query.

Bet four: Win – Rockhampton – Race One – number five, Blazeray
Fresh and back in trip looks ideal for this bloke. I loved his win at this track and distance two back before stepping up to 1200m.
He just couldn’t finish it off as he finished second to Mystic Forces. Back to the 1050m, and hopefully with cover from the draw, I think he’ll take some beating and looks to be a great bet.

Bet five:Win – Rockhampton – Race Two – number two, Paradis Imperial
This is a specialist and is beautifully placed back to this level.
She was in need of the run fresh at this track before going to Doomben. Third up, she should just about be ready fitness-wise and get the 1/1 sit or sit outside Court Clown.
