'Need to be careful what I say': Manly's bewilderment at refereeing style in Eels loss

Des Hasler has confirmed a possible reunion with Manly Warringah, the NRL club he coached to two premierships.
The 57-year-old sat down for a meeting with the embattled Sea Eagles as they search for a new coach after Trent Barrett tendered his resignation amid a feud over training facilities.
Hasler told Nine News he still possessed the desire to coach in the NRL again and had arrived from overseas to be briefed on the situation.
From 2004 to 2011 Hasler was the head coach at the Sea Eagles, taking them to three grand finals and winning two to preside over one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. He left the Sea Eagles in 2012 after falling out with the club.
Hasler most recently coached the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to two grand finals (2012, 2014) in the five years he was at the club, losing both of them (to the Melbourne Storm and the South Sydney Rabbitohs respectively).
Manly had a disappointing 2018 season. After impressing under rookie coach Barrett in 2017 the Sea Eagles were expected to continue to build this season, but started under a salary cap cloud and failed to regain their momentum.
Manly’s star halfback Dally Cherry-Evans, currently in camp with the Australian side, has said he would welcome his former mentor back to the Northern Beaches.
Hasler has an impressive coaching resume including a 58.2 per cent winning record after reaching the finals in 12 straight seasons from 2005 to 2016.
