Hamilton's championship celebrations put on hold after US Grand Prix

Britain’s Lewis Hamilton has been kept waiting for his fifth Formula One world championship after the Mercedes driver finished third in a US Grand Prix won by Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

The victory on Sunday was the Finn’s first since March 2013. Red Bull’s Dutch youngster Max Verstappen finished second after starting 18th.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, Hamilton’s only title rival, finished fourth – a result that means the championship remains open until Mexico next weekend. Hamilton now has a 70-point lead with 75 remaining to be won.

From a sporting point of view I bet the owners of F1 are very happy that we get one more race that actually means something. Yet another mistake from Seb yesterday, he's starting to look like the second driver at Ferrari.....also great to see Kimi get a win after more than a thousand (sorry, a hundred) races. That was in contrast to the way Daniel's season and Fernando's career is fizzling out.
