Looks to be really competitive racing on Sunday, where I’m keen on a couple at Muswellbrook. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One- Win- Muswellbrook Race Two Number 9 Bubbles Ball
The Kris Lees/Andrew Gibbons combo has been lethal this season and I think they can continue that at the Brook, starting with this daughter of Zoustar, who is on debut but has really looked the part at the trials, the latest when winning at Wyong in good time with heavyweight rider Aaron Bullock steering.

Just needs to hold a spot from the gate and she’ll be winning.

Bet: $90 Win at $2.35 (Sportsbet)

Bet Two- Win- Muswellbrook Race Three Number 1 Crowd Surfer
I think he should be Winx odds. This race just has no depth to it outside him and with any natural upside from the debut, he’ll be beating these. Thought he was good on debut at Taree when on speed.

Got a bit lost when the eventual winner booted clear but he kept chasing. Bred to appreciate the trip, gets the run of the race…keen.

Bet: $120 Win at $1.75 (Sportsbet)

Bet Three- Win Multi – Bubbles Ball/Crowd Surfer
Chips in with this pair and going to have an all up as well. Most confident about Crowd Surfer given the no depth factor and the upside he has. He should be putting them away.

Bubbles Ball has looked very good at the trials but trials and race day are two different beasts. Just banking on the stable being in form and her holding a spot from the good gate.

Bet: $80 at $4.11 (Sportsbet)

Bet Four- Win- Mornington Race Nine Number 2 Think Babe
Think Babe is a Darren Weir-trained gelding who was a hard fav when resuming at the Bool and to the eye, I thought he was a touch disappointing given he led, rather comfortably, yet was run down by a horse who sat wide no cover.

But the horse did shift a plate in the run and his fresh record isn’t great. He can certainly bounce back, perhaps with a sit.

Bet: $30 Win at $3.5 (Sportsbet)

Bet Five- Win- Sunshine Coast Race One Number 2 Magic Lad
Tricky program at the Coast but I think this bloke can win the opener. Was wide no cover on speed when resuming at this track/distance and I thought he did a really good job to stick on like he did when beaten a lip by Voulait.

Goes good second up too and provided that resumption hasn’t busted him, I think he’s the way to go.

Bet: $30 Win at $3.3 (Sportsbet)

Total Spend: $350
