One More Try has won Race 2 on Melbourne Cup day ahead of Seductive Miss and Miss Siska over a distance of 1700 metres.
The three leaders bolted away from the field during the final 500 metres of the race, and on the rail, One More Try just had too much pace as he came over the top of Seductive Miss to take the race by a head.
With the rain continuing in the lead-up to the race, the track was downgraded to a Soft 8 and the start was delayed by over ten minutes as Flemington battled with flooding in the entry tunnel and part of the press room roof caving in due to excessive amount of rain.

Five scratchings from the original field left just 13 horses in the race.
Aeecee Tong De took the early lead of the race with Miss Siska and Journeygirl also up near the front of affairs, but they were mowed down pretty quickly by the fast finishers on the final straight.
Despite the wet track, One More Try put on an impressive turn of speed to come over the top and win.
It was paying around the $5 mark through most betting outlets for the win with jockey Linda Meech saying it was a rough ride through the weather.
