Kyneton Cup Day is the feature meeting on Wednesday but there looks to be some good bets across the board. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One- Win- Grafton Race One Number 6 Heritage Sash
I got burnt a bit by the Edmonds/Maloney combo on Monday but they can bounce back here via this colt.

Thought he was really good on debut at Ipswich when backed. Just didn’t appear 100 per cent happy around that tricky circuit and seemed very new to the caper. Bigger track, better for the run, gee I think he’s a good thing and should start closer to $1.30-$1.40 IMO.

Bet: $120 Win at $1.75 (UBET)

Bet Two- Each Way- Kyneton Race One Number 8 Peta Rose
Found this Kyneton meeting to be a tough one. I think this girl is a touch of overs though in a thin race.

Debuted in what looked a strong mares maiden at Ballarat and didn’t really know what to do it seemed but was sound in defeat. Form out of it has been good and she’ll love the step up in trip, along with the lack of depth.

Bet: $15 E/W at $8.5/$2.25 (Sportsbet)

Bet Three- Win – Kyneton Race Two Number 2 Strong Influence
I’ll take the gamble on him, a son of Squamosa resuming for the Gelagotis team. This bloke hasn’t raced since January 8 when debuting over 1100m at Stony Creek and I thought against the track pattern he was very good in running fourth.

Form has been outstanding, he’s been gelded…can’t find a jump out for him but there has been early interest.

Bet: $20 Win at $5.5 (BetEasy)

Bet Four- Win- Kyneton Race Four Number 3 Doves Cry
I think she’s the safe way to go. Talented daughter of Street Cry resuming for Henry Dwyer where she is 2/2 first up and they have been career best outings.

Bit of depth to this line up, and has a tricky draw, but she looked sharp enough to my eye in a recent jump out and has the pace to overcome the draw.

Bet: $30 Win (Tote)

Bet Five- Win- Port Lincoln Race Seven Number 2 Galaxy Falls
He’s flying this horse and I just hope he doesn’t spot them a mammoth start, like he did last time over the 1390m but he absolutely savaged the line late and just missed out on picking up Eye The World.

Unknown at the trip, first go at it, but is racing as if it’ll be ideal and he appears to have a stack of upside left.

Bet: $30 Win at $4 (Bet365)

Total Spend: $230
