The Sunny Coast is where Queensland metro racing takes place this Saturday, eight races are set down for Morphettville Parks and the Ascot Carnival continues to build nicely. Here are my five plays across the three meetings.

Bet One- Win- Sunshine Coast Race Five Number 7 Awesome Pluck
I’m trying to find a negative for him…outside the gate, I really can’t find one. He just looks an absolute moral for mine.

Trialled up enormous prior to going into the Kosciuszko first up where Tim Clark rode the horse an absolute treat and really couldn’t have done more on the horse but he just ran out of puff late when third to Belflyer. Surely that form puts these away and anything over $2 is fine by me.

Bet Two- Win- Sunshine Coast Eight Number 4 Hold The Line
I think David Vandyke has a decent filly on his hands here. She kicked off her career in the Winter with a couple of runs and won them both.

Form out of both has been outstanding and she ran time each outing, so big ticks there, and the recent trial was very good to the eye. Happy to have something on her.

Bet Three- Win- Morphettville Parks Race Six Number 2 Barood
Not surprised that he has been well supported in early betting. He ran over 1100m on Bendigo Cup Day where he was a little unlucky I thought, struggling to get clear air in the straight when seemingly full of running, eventually running fourth to Carlingford.

Back to 1000m a big tick, likes racing here. Hopefully rolls along on speed. $5 at the time of writing looks a touch of overs.

Bet Four- Win- Ascot Race Three Number 3 Mississippi Delta
I think she’s a Perth Cup aspirant and can continue his winning ways. She’s in the game big time in terms of the up and comers in terms of that race.

The way she savaged the line late was that of a really good stayer and provided she handles the seven day up, she should be winning despite potential traffic issues from gate one.

Bet Five- Win- Ascot Race Six Number 8 Enticing Star
She’s indeed a star and should remain unbeaten here. Interesting that she goes to the 1400m here. Does this rule out the Winterbottom? Either way, I think she’ll be winning here. She’s indeed a star and is 8/8 to start her career.

Been well placed by the Williams camp but she took on the boys last time in the Birthday Stakes and was dominant. She’ll eat up 1400m and you never know how good they are til they’re beaten. I think $1.8-$1.9 is fair enough.
