There’s some good racing right across the board on Friday, highlighted by night meetings at the Valley and Canterbury.

Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Each Way – Kyneton Race Three Number 11 Gina’s Hope
I was really keen on her when she was down to resume at Stawell just under three weeks back. I’m confident she’ll run well here despite the depth engaged. $81 on debut at Ararat earlier in the year and was one of the runs of the day against the track pattern in a maiden which has produced seven winners.

Her recent Burrumbeet jump out was outstanding and really only has to hold up a decent spot from the gate to look the winner.

Bet: $25 E/W (Tote)

Bet Two – Win – Moonee Valley Race Two Number 8 Blinder
He was confidently supported when debuting over 1100m on Sale Cup Day and though the depth wasn’t great, he was impressive in putting them away late. Looks a decent progressive type and I’d be shocked if he didn’t measure up against this lot, and has been scratched already from Adelaide so the intent is there.

Bet: $20 Win at $5 (BetEasy)

Bet Three – Win – Moonee Valley Race Seven Number 6 Ruomaza
Ruomaza will like the rise to 2000m. A narrow but strong winner two back over the mile at Morphettville before racing over 1700m on Geelong Cup Day where he was a little unlucky but I thought he had his chance when second to Royal Order.

Up to 2000m looks an ideal recipe, plus is hard fit/in form. I like his chances and the odds are fair.

Bet: $20 Win at $5.5 (BetEasy)

Bet Four – Win – Murwillumbah Race Three Number 3 Proud Captain
No prizes for finding him but he looks the good thing on the card. Kris Lees trains this four-year-old, who was 1800-2200 last week at Ipswich where he was under pressure before the turn and seemingly wasn’t happy on the track but his brilliance got him home.

Back to 2000m no issue for mine and there’s just no depth or runners with upside.

Bet: $50 Win (Tote)

Bet Five – Each Way – Canterbury Race Six Number 11 Waruna
Have to wait til night time for the moral, but it looks to be this girl. Kris Lees trains this progressive mare, who was wide no cover last time on the Kensington track at Randwick but was always in control and won like a good horse.

There’s a wide gate, but should glide over comfortably and Canterbury lately has really suited those on speed. $2+ is fine.

Bet: $100 Win at $2.5 (Bet365)

Total spent: $240
