Rosehill is where Sydney racing takes place this Saturday. Eight races will be decided on the Parks track at Morphettville, and the summer carnival continues at Doomben.

Here are my five plays across the three meetings.

Bet 1: Win – Rosehill Race 6, No.12: Montrachet
This is my bet of the day for Rosehill. There were plenty who were keen on her when she resumed over 1100 metres here a fortnight ago, and on the turn it looked no betting, but she just couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Falerina. She’ll take good improvement from that, and up to 1200 metres is a big tick. Odds of $5 are more than acceptable.

Bet 2: Each-way – Rosehill Race 7, No.8: Most Exalted
I wouldn’t be shocked if this bloke started favourite. Mack Griffith trains him, and he’s coming here off the back of a mile run at Randwick on cup day, where he got well back in the run but finished off okay late behind Danzie. His form is a tad misleading at 2000 metres. Both runs at the trip and beyond he’s been on wet track, and he hates them. His record over 1900 metres is very good, but the key to him is dry tracks.

Bet 3: Win – Doomben Race 3, No.3: Trusty Lad
He’s on at $5.50, so hopefully the overs god is smiling upon him. Every man and their dog will back A Man To Match, but the replay of Trusty Lad was nearly as bad. He’s a Matty Kropp-trained colt who resumed over 1350 metres here three weeks ago, and given that was short of his ideal trip, he ran a beauty in defeat when third to Light Up The Room, with Plumaro ticking that form last Saturday. He’s a winner at the track and distance. With upside, he’s likeable.

Bet 4: Win – Morphettville Parks Race 2, No.2: Be My Star
She’ll be short but should be winning. She’s a Tony McEvoy-trained filly who had trialled up really well prior to resuming on cup day here on the course proper, where she was well backed and despite doing a bit wrong in the straight, class got her home. Kabini franked that form last Saturday, and with this filly, she should have room for improvement. She looks like the winner.

Bet 5: Each-way – Morphettville Parks Race 5, No.2: Counter Spin
I think he’s worth a throw at the stumps. This bloke hasn’t raced since late June when he finished down the track behind Mystified. He resumes without a trial, but it’s been a long time since he has faced a field this week, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does. I suspect he’ll run well, and at double figures I could entertain an each-way bet.
