Plenty of racing has been set down for Sunday, highlighted by Cup Days at Goulburn and Kilmore.

Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Win – Goulburn Race Seven Number 2 Interlocuter
Interlocuter could be a sharp improver. I thought he was good first up at Flemington behind Violate before going to Caulfield where I thought he was dreadful behind Furrion but had excuses.

Freshened up and back to the mile, where he has been so effective at in the past. If he runs up to his best, he’s got these covered surely.

Bet: $30 Win at $4.8 (Sportsbet)

Bet Two – Win – Goulburn Race Eight Number 5 Chewbacca
Chewbacca is the good thing of the day. Speaking to Danny Williams before the first up run, he did say the horse would improve off the run when he resumes here a fortnight back in the Highway.

The market said he was ready but unfortunately he just got a tad too far back but was sound late. Run under the belt, fitter, home track, he’s the winner.

Bet: $200 Win at $2 (BetEasy)

Bet Three – Win Multi – Quirindi Race One Number 4 Bubbles Ball/Race Four Number 14 So Good To Me
Kris Lees has had an outstanding start to the new season and I think he can continue it here at Quirindi. I think only bad luck will beat Bubbles Ball in the first. Debuted at Muswellbrook where she was heavily backed but couldn’t quite finish it off.

Blinkers go on and drops a fair bit in depth for mine. Should win. The other runner is So Good To Me, who didn’t appear to handle the Kempsey track at all on debut but was sound late. She too gets the blinkers on and a soft draw.

Bet: $10 at $33.25 (Sportsbet)

Bet Four – Win – Kilmore Race One Number 1 Mr Money Bags
Mr Money Bags is a Robbie Griffiths trained four year old who had trialled up really well prior to resuming down the straight at Flemington on Stakes Day and I thought his run was one of the better efforts of the meeting, the way he closed off strongly to run fourth to Order Of Command.

I think he wants further than 1200m, which is the concern here, but hard to ignore the resumption.

Bet: $70 Win at $2.9 (Sportsbet)

Bet Five – Each Way – Kilmore Race Eight Number 6 Black On Gold
I can’t believe we are getting double figures and better for Black On Gold, a Chris Waller-trained gelding. He resumed over 1800m on Cup Day at Flemington and loved the way he closed off when a close up fourth to Kaonic.

I am a tad concerned with the soft track because he is better on firmer footing, but the resumption was on a wet track and he was excellent.

Bet: $15 Win/$25 Place at $12/$3.2 (Sportsbet)

Total spent: $350
