Some really good racing will be seen on Wednesday, most notably at Sandown with some promising types engaged.

Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Each Way – Warwick Farm Race Six Number 5 Charlayne
Charlayne is a talented daughter of Sebring that is resuming for Chris Waller. She hasn’t raced since early June here where she bled in a clear forgive behind Dawn Dawn.

She trialled up really well recently…always on guard with bleeders first up because they’ll either come back in brilliant order or flop badly, with no middle ground.

Bet: $15 E/W (Tote)

Bet Two – Win – Sandown Race Five Number 8 Blinder
Only bad luck will beat Blinder. Unfortunately, that was what beat him a couple of Friday nights back at the Valley. He was heavily backed and really, he should have won but just had no luck on the home turn when looking to build the revs.

He just needs clear air against these and I think he’ll be far too good for them.

Bet: $100 Win at $3 (BetEasy)

Bet Three – Each Way – Sandown Race Seven Number 1 Honorable Mention
Henry Dwyer trains this four-year-old, who gave them a caning when resuming at the Bool before racing under the lights at Cranbourne where he was a bit unlucky not to win, running second to Vitani after getting held up behind the leaders.

Third up at the 1500m, he should be ready to go.

Bet: $10 E/W (Tote)

Bet Four – Each Way – Sandown Race Eight Number 11 The Great Artiste
The Great Artiste is a gelding trained by Paul Preusker who ran over the mile on Ararat Cup Day where I thought young Kersley gave the five-year-old an absolute peach of a steer just off the speed and he put them away rather convincingly late.

Stable should always be respected when they come to town.

Bet: $10 E/W at $14/$4.2 (BetEasy)

Bet Five – Win – Gold Coast Race One Number 9 Third Martini
Third Martini is a daughter of Dawn Approach having her first start for Chris Waller. She trialled a few weeks back on her home track at the Gold Coast and looked to move quite well to my eye when a narrow second to Champagne Jet, who franked that form by winning on debut at the Sunny Coast.

She’s a definite watch here.

Bet: $30 Win at $3.8 (Sportsbet)

Total spent: $200
