The Masters at Ascot continues this Saturday, highlighted by the Group L Winterbottom Stakes (1200m). Here are my five plays across the meeting.

Bet one: Each Way – Race One – number two, Zuccheros
I think the double figures on offer is more than acceptable. He is two months between runs since racing over 1200m here where he fell well of the pace but worked home well to run third to Electric Light.

They’ll go mad in front here, so he should use that speed and have a last look.

Bet two: Win – Race Three, number three, Arcadia Prince
I think anywhere near that $2 mark is fine for the good thing on the program.

He ran over this track and distance a fortnight ago where he scored a brilliant win, crossing the line from the back to win and was found to have pulled up with the thumps which adds more merit.

Bet three: Each way – Race Five – number seven, Jaspara
I am happy to have a throw at the stumps each way. He ran over the mile here last time where he got back off the pace but I liked the way he finished off behind Blackwood River.

Back 100m in trip, there is little concern and if the speed goes on, he’ll be strong at the end. Each way is the right play here.

Bet four: Each way – Race Seven – number 13, Enticing Star
I’m all over this girl in the Winterbottom. You just have to forget her last start flop over 1400m. She was in season but the tempo was slow and she really had no chance. The trial since says she’s back on track and a fast run at 1200m will be perfect.

Bet five: Win – Race Nine – number ten, Magical Charm
In Pike we trust in the get out.

This Adam Durrant trained mare ran over this track and distance last Wednesday where she was an alarming drifter in betting but despite the market, she surged late and proved too good. This is her toughest test to date, but she’s a strong type.
