The lost sheep has spoken. Centralise our playing stocks. Just like NZ. Just like Ireland. Eddie Jones might just fan those flames.

Aside from an act of parliament forcing this no-brainer decision, we may just have to do this the old fashion way. A good old fashion kangaroo court.

Before that though, what is the centralised NZ and Ireland model. Well correct me if I’m wrong, and trust me, I will 100 per cent be corrected by Roarers in the comments section, but it is all to do with talent.

It means centralising that talent under the one player contract tent.

A player is not contracted to the Reds. Nor the Tahs. Not the Brumbies. Not the Rebels, who incidentally are now my second favourite team as they have Queensland legends Quade Cooper, Will Genia and super boot Reece Hodge. I just wanted to out that out there.

Players are contracted to Australia, meaning that their relationship is direct with Rugby Australia rather than franchises or provincial teams.

From that the intelligent management and nurturing of players and coaches begins. The focus, instead of being on the franchises, is the team of the country the players are eligible to play for – i.e. the Wallabies.

The point being is that the players are not objects to thrash and bash about by all comers like an old Holden Torana in an abandoned quarry someplace.

Players can be developed so they will play a key part in a Wallaby team. They can be strategically rested, with the bigger picture in mind.

Given that the Wallabies are the major money spinner for Australian rugby – historically and in the modern game – then how does this not make sense?

Put all the talent under one roof. Tell me more. What else am I missing.

So time to open up proceedings. Who or what stands in the way of centralising Australian rugby stocks?
