I have supported Liverpool FC throughout my life. My team hasn’t won the league since 1990 which was before I was born. They have gotten close many times, especially in the 2014 season, but a few slips cost them the title.

Now, in the 2018-19 title race, Liverpool are closer than ever and currently still undefeated 14 games into the season. Even after this amazing achievement, Liverpool is still second – two points behind Manchester City and a goal difference Liverpool simply can’t catch up to.

Manchester City is the heavy favourites in winning the Premier League title this season, having won it last year with a record 100 points from 38 points.

Keep in mind, a team receives three points from winning and one point from a draw. This incredible season is one which has never been seen before, not even with Arsenal’s historic Invincible season who only managed 91 points in the season.

It is clear that Manchester City have started their season with real determination and do not seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Liverpool’s success this season is due to Jurgen Klopp. Klopp has made some brilliant transfers and his defensive tactics have been critical this season.

In January, Klopp bought powerhouse centre back Virgil Van Dijk, and his addition to the team has made a noticeable difference.

Klopp’s formation differentiation has also been effective this season. When playing more of an attacking game, Liverpool shift into a 4-3-3 formation. When playing with a more defensive shape, it becomes and 4-2-3-1, with four defenders, two defensive midfielders, three attacking midfielders and a false nine striker. This tends to put the opposition off-guard and works really well with our players.

Another reason I believe Liverpool FC will win the league, and the most important reason, is the supporters.

Liverpool fans are different than any other in the country. They are passionate, loud and use their voice for positive reasons. Many players opposing Liverpool in the historic Anfield Stadium have said the reason they lost was that of the constant pressure from the fans.

The players have a great relationship towards the supporters which always goes well for a football club. The supporters really want this title – and for that reason alone, Liverpool FC will win the English Premier League.
