Looks to be some good racing on the board for Thursday, where I’m keen on a couple at Gosford. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.
Bet 1: Win – Gosford Race 2, No.7: Transmitter
Swelt looks a moral, but at the odds, I’m making Transmitter the best of the day. This filly resumed without a trial at Kembla Grange in a 1000m maiden where she was just off the pace before El Issa gave the filly clear air and she put them away quite impressively and the time stacked up well relative to the meeting.
There is depth to this 64, but she’s got upside and in the right stable.

Bet 2: Win – Gosford Race 5, No.3: Swelt
Another that I anticipate that will be backed with purpose. He was a notable drifter in betting when resuming at Hawkesbury where he was up on speed and chased hard, but no match for Rosina Kojonup, who bolted up at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Depth overall looks thin and with the run under the belt, he should be putting this field away.

Bet 3: Win – Kyneton Race 1, No.1: Celeritate Regem
Expecting this bloke to be really well supported. He resumed here a few weeks ago where he did too much work on speed in a race set up for the back markers, and it was a ripping backmarker that won in the shape of Gina’s Hope, who bolted up at Echuca on Wednesday to frank the form.

Bet 4: Win – Kyneton Race 3, No.5: Red Jewel Girl
Early market flucs are saying no to her but I like her against this lot. Resumed on a sticky track at Moe where she was off the pace in a tricky spot but got clear and worked home well in what looked a decent enough maiden.
Should come right on from that, draws well, firmer footing…bit surprised she’s easy in early betting.

Bet 5: Win – Townsville Race 2, No.4: Centre Red
Concede the fav is hard to beat, but I think this bloke is a touch of overs at $4+. Ran over 1250m at Cairns last start where he just took a little too long to get into his work but his finale was sound enough.
Better suited on the bigger track for mine, and has gate one, so hopefully can take up a more closer spot in the run.
