Good meetings across the board on Thursday, where my main focus is at Coffs Harbour and Warrnambool.

Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One- Each Way- Warrnambool Race One Number 5 Sandman
Concede the Weir horse is the one to beat, but this bloke looks silly overs. On debut for Mark Greig and I thought his recent jump out on this track was very good, sitting on speed most of the way and pulling clear late under not much pressure. At $9+, I’m more than happy to have something on each way.

Bet: $20 E/W at $9/$3.7 (Sportsbet)

Bet Two- Win- Warrnambool Race Four Number 1 Bianco Nuovo
Short but should be winning. Michael Moroney trains this four year old gelding, who resumed at Sandown and tried quite hard but was no match late for Declares War, who won impressively last Friday night at the Valley.

Only threat I can see is Nashville Sound so back the two and I don’t think you can go wrong.

Bet: $120 Win at $2.05 (BetEasy) Bianco Nuovo, $30 Win Nashville Sound at $5 (Sportsbet)

Bet Three- Win- Coffs Harbour Race One Number 5 Bubbles Ball
Think this girl should and probably will start odds on. Kris Lees is having a fab run on the north coast with his runners and I think this girl can beak the maiden tag.

Showed good speed last time at Quirindi and looked home but was nabbed on the peg. Back to 1000m from the good draw, clearly the horse to beat.

Bet: $50 Win at $2.45 (BetEasy)

Bet Four- Win- Coffs Harbour Race Six Number 7 Crooks And Crannies
Another that I think will be backed with confidence. Toby Edmonds has this filly absolutely flying.

Got the maiden win out of the way two back at the Sunny Coast before going to Grafton where she got into a lovely spot and finished best, beating Acraman, who won next start. Has the gate speed to overcome the draw and I don’t think this race is any harder.

Bet: $50 Win at $3.1 (Neds)

Bet Five- Win- Coffs Harbour Race Eight Number 7 Impulsive Maneuver
Speaking to Jim Jarvis a couple of months ago, he did signal this horse out as a potential Highway runner.

Resumes here with the Highway in mind I suspect. Brillaint winner first up during the Taree Carnival and smashed the clock in doing so. Grafton trial looked very good, trained on the track and McGuren sticks. I think the $7.50+ is very much overs.

Bet: $40 Win at $7 (Sportsbet)

Total Spend: $330
