It’s a BBL double-header on Christmas Eve as the Hobart Hurricanes host the Melbourne Renegades, then the Sydney Thunder play the Sydney Sixers in the Sydney smash. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming both games online and watching them on TV.
The first game on Christmas Eve will get underway at 3:45pm (AEDT) at Blundstone Arena in Hobart as the Hurricanes host the Stars, before the second match will be played at Spotless Stadium in Homebush from 7:15pm (AEDT) as the Sydney derby heats up.
The Sydney derby is one of the BBL’s biggest rivalries and is the headline match of the day, however, with players like Jofra Archer, Ben McDermott and Glenn Maxwell running around in the first game, there will be a stack of big-hitting, must-watch cricket on.
The first of these matches is one of the BBL games which is exclusive to Fox Sports. For that reason, you’ll only be able to tune in through Fox Cricket as the Hurricanes battle the Stars.
The second match between the two Sydney teams will be available on both Fox Cricket and Channel 7.
If you are looking to tune in through Fox Sports, you will need a valid Foxtel TV subscription complete with the sports package.
If you are looking to stream the action online, you will need to do so through Fox Cricket, as Channel 7 don’t have streaming rights to this summer’s action.
Fox Cricket can be accessed through Kayo Sports, which is also serving as the Cricket Australia live pass this summer. It’s worth $25 per month.
The other alternatives are to tune in through either the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now.
Now is the better option if you want to only stream Foxtel channels, while the App is the better way to go if you already have access to Foxtel on TV as it’ll be free to use and download with valid login details.
